Vacation
With all the doom and gloom with the hurricanes, I thought I would add a light post to Circletime. I went to the east coast earlier this month on vacation and had a great time visiting friends in DC and in Maryland. Overall a great six days spent exploring. This photo was taken on a small river in Delaware alongside a trail where I hiked with Laura, a friend who I met in Italy a few years back.

Highlights from the trip include:
A six hour sail on the tall ship that Laura works on.
A tour of the Capitol from my friend Sam who works in my congressperson's office.
Running into a friend from UCSD/Sacramento in DC at a bar.
Visiting my great-aunt and great-uncle in Maryland, having last met them when I was 4. I visited them at their home and spent an afternoon getting to know them.
Going on a day trip hike in Delaware and walking into Pennsylvania.
And finally, visiting George Washington University and Georgetown to learn about the public policy programs they offer.
Overall it was a very fun and much needed vacation.
