A RaceAroundTheWorld

Hooray!!! TAR is back to it's usual awesomeness!

Who did you like, and what are your impressions of the people this season?

I think David and Lori are so totally cute. They have charmed me, and I want to be their friend. I always like couples who actually look like they enjoy being together, you know?

I still like B.J. and Tyler, I am glad I wasn't disappointed by them.

Least favorites?

Lake and Michelle -- oh that poor woman.

and
MoJo.

Amazing Race 9

So, TAR starts up again on Tuesday and I want to get everyone's preseason picks for who you WANT to win and who you THINK will win. Go here : http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race9/ and read the bios to make your deicsion. Will it be one of the 3 "dating" couples ( note: no dating on/off this time) or perhaps the token Old Couple? Who will be more obnoxious- the female duos or the male pairs? Why do those categories leave us with only one other pair- the token married couple with kids? Man, I didn't realize how formulaic TAR was..... Anyway, post your picks and get in on the action early this time!

ETA: How come we never see brother/sister pairs in the regular TAR? I want to see one!

Brendan in Africa

These days I find myself in Tofo, Mozambique in a beach side town enjoying the warm weather and summer breeze. I've been eating really well, cooking gormet food with other travelers incorporating fresh seafood from the local markets and tropical fruit from the roadside stands. Life here moves at a slower pace, though I've been able to play some soccer on the beach with local kids. I will be heading back south in two days to make my way to South Africa again. I'll try to update my webpage when I have a chance, so please take a look at www.bmcveigh.org and click on Brendan in Africa. I'll have more stories in the weeks ahead and look forward to hearing from you.

Is it just me?

Or has the weather gotten wackier and wackier? Case in point: Yesterday it was sunny and 75 degrees here. Today it is cold, high of around 39, with a chance of snow showers this afternoon.

What is the weather like where you are?
