Try saying Sighisoara three times fast

Hi Everyone,
This update comes to you from Sighisoara, Romania. After a short two week visit through southern Spain, I was able to visit Mary in Toledo and then travel with her and a couple of her friends to Sevilla and then I traveled to Cadiz, Tarifa, Gibraltar, Nerja, Granada, and Madrid. This week, when I got to Madrid, I found a cheap flight and decided to that a two week trip was in order. I flew into Zurich and then on to Bucharest on Thursday.

I got here and it was a chilly 30 degree high. Having come from warm weather in southern Africa and the beaches of Spain, this is my first experience of winter this year. My shorts and sandals didn't really cut it, so I went out and got a proper winter coat. I spent a couple days walking around the city, visiting the Romanian Parliament building which is the second largest building in the world to the Pentagon. I also visited the national contemporary art museum.

The food has been rich, with very tasty meals at bargain prices. Hopefully I can put on a few of the pounds I lost while in southern Africa and from walking around so much. I've met nice travelers along the way and today met a mother daughter pair from Texas. All is well here. I should be heading to Brasov next and then should go skiing outside of Brasov.

This week I'll try to update photos on www.flickr.com/photos/bmcveigh and www.bmcveigh.org

Hope you are doing well.

no title required

Hmm. I'm just throwing this out there. I will understand if (heck, I expect) it leaves you speechless and unable to comment. And it was on the front page too, not that I went looking for it or anything, even if you think I would.

Tonight on the tube

Hey girls (because Brendan's having a blast and not anywhere near a TV I would assume)...

So TAR is on tonight. Remember to catch it at 10pm. Thankfully it's not overloading that sweet spot at 9pm. I mean jeez, there's so much on tonight I can't even DVR all that I want to watch. Joey's back, and I'll probably watch it live. But then at 9, there's Scrubs, House (which I had to nix this week because of..) a new/resurrected show on G4 I want to catch called Banzai. Then there's Sons and Daughters on ABC which from what I've seen in previews looks like a wannabe Arrested Development. Anybody going to watch that? There's also going to be some military/covertops drama before TAR called The Unit, starring President David Palmer (aka Dennis Haysbert aka Allstate commercial spokesman). That's 5 shows in the 9-spot! And sadly there have been things I could be doing, you know, outside of the house on a Tuesday night, but never really have because of this compulsion to stay in, and I now realize why.
